Jason McGrewDirector of EngineeringJason McGrew, director of engineering at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Mich., manages the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's physical assets as well as the building's utility usage and conservation. Before joining the Townsend in 2003, McGrew was facility manager of a large private estate in Orchard Lake, Mich. During that time, he was responsible for the care of a 15-acre manicured property as well as a 10,000 square-foot home. Prior to his employment with the private estate, McGrew worked for Marriott International in a variety of engineering capacities. He began his career as a shift engineer with the Marriott Hotel in Southfield, Mich., and was later promoted to chief engineer for the Residence Inn of Southfield, Mich. His final position with Marriott was as assistant chief engineer for the Southfield properties, where he assisted in the management of engineering departments of a Residence Inn, a Courtyard and a full-service Marriott. McGrew is a 2002 graduate of Wayne State University located in Detroit, Mich., where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He also received training in heating and cooling systems from Henry Ford Community College, in Dearborn Mich. McGrew holds a Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE) designation from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. A Michigan native, he resides in Dearborn, Mich.
